DDU-GKY

DEEN DAYAL UPADHYAYA GRAMEEN KAUSHALYA YOJANA (DDU-GKY) is the skill development and placement initiative scheme launched by  the Ministry of Rural Development. The scheme focuses on catering to the occupational aspirations of rural youth and enhancing their skills for regular and organized sector wage employment.

DDU-GKY has its origins linked to the Aajeevika skills programme and the ‘Special Projects’ component of the Swarnjayanti Gram Swarozgar Yojana (SGSY). Implementation of DDU-GKY involves State Governments, Technical Support Agencies like the National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRD & PR), and Project Implementing Agencies (PIAs). The Ministry invited various organizations to sign up as vendors for the complete implementation of this scheme in various rural corners of India
